Instructions for Preparing an Independent Research Project Final Report


The final report due time: May 01 by 5:30 pm
Submit PDF file using Canvas [Final Project Final Report]
The final report format:
10 pages, single column, 12pt plus references (as many references as needed). It should contain title, author name, email address, abstract, and the following sections:
  • introduction
  • related work
  • methodology
  • results
  • discussion
  • acknowledgements
  • references

You are allowed to place supplemental materials online. Examples of appropriate supplemental materials include tables and figures with additional results, supplementary data sets, code, etc.
If the supplemental materials are included, this should be referred in the text of your final report.

The final report weight is 25% of the course, while the weight of the progress presentation is 5%.

  • Prepare 10 minutes progress presentation of your independent research progress
  • Plan on 1 additional minute to answer questions and to allow discussion
  • Plan on 1 minute transition to the next talk
