Timothy O’Rourke, Vice President, Computer and Financial Services & CIO and Axel Kohlmeyer, Associate Director Institute for Computational Molecular Science, Research Associate Professor, and TeraGrid Campus Representative, cordially invite you to learn the applications and benefits of High Performance Computing (HPC) from Dr. Shawn Brown, Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh and Research Fellow at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. Dr. Brown will discuss the use of HPC on the TeraGrid in the creation of an H1N1 pandemic model for academic research and advising government. This keynote presentation will kick off a series of Temple seminars on HPC.
Faculty members and researchers interested in working with HPC for data analysis, modeling, simulations, and the creation of new algorithms are encouraged to attend to learn about the growing interest in this topic.
